Gail passed away in 2007 after serving the Marshall County Historical Society faithfully in many capacities for several years. She chaired the genealogy and museum committees, served as editor of the society's newsletter, volunteered her typing skills in the publication of Descendants of Simon & Elizabeth Martin Dakan, and was the society's historian, preserving a written and pictorial history of society activities. She catalogued donors and donated items and also donated many artifacts to enrich the museum. As genealogy chair, Gail worked tirelessly to organize and enlarge the society's genealogy records and distributed information to people from all over the country, assisting them with their research.
